Kathy Daniels

Kathy worked for several years in HR in the manufacturing industry, latterly as Head of HR for an organisation with around 2500 employees. For the last fourteen years she has been working as an Independent Consultant.

Kathy now works in both academic and practitioner roles. In her academic work she has written textbooks on employment law, employee relations and discrimination and lectures at a University on both undergraduate and post graduate courses. She is also involved in writing learning material, and tutoring, for a number of distance learning providers.

In her practitioner work Kathy carries out a number of roles with the CIPD – writing training material and practitioner materials for various purposes including the HR Inform website. Kathy has also written books for employees and employers – on the topics of reward and redundancy. The explanation of employment law in a straight forward and easy to understand manner is one of Kathy’s specialities.

Kathy sits as a Lay Member in the Employment Tribunals, which gives her an excellent insight into the Tribunal process, and to the application of law in everyday business situations.
